A Wider Bridge is the North American LGBTQ organization building support for Israel and its LGBTQ community.
We are building a movement of pro-Israel LGBTQ people and allies, with strong interest in and commitment to supporting Israel and its LGBTQ community.
A Wider Bridge builds personal rather than political relationships with Israel and LGBTQ Israelis, providing leaders, organizations and communities, both in Israel and North America, with opportunities for engagement, advocacy, and philanthropy.

We believe two kinds of outcomes will result from this bridge building: equality in Israel, and equality for Israel.
Equality In Israel: With the support of North American LGBTQ people and allies, Israel’s LGBTQ community will be better positioned to advance social, political and cultural change. LGBTQ equality will strengthen Israel as a society where all people labeled “the other” are welcomed and celebrated throughout the country.
Equality For Israel: Israel should be included and treated with fairness in our LGBTQ communities, by our local and national institutions, and within the community of nations. We believe our communities are strengthened when people move from demonizing and delegitimizing Israel to a place of understanding, empathy, and engagement.
What We Do
1. LGBTQ Leadership Missions to Israel
A Wider Bridge engages LGBTQ leaders in politics, entertainment, government, and advocacy to participate in 10-day missions to Israel to experience the country through an LGBTQ lens. Mission participants are exposed to Jewish peoplehood, Israel, and LGBTQ Israelis, and develop a stake in the future of Israel and its LGBTQ community. Our Mission Alumni return home to their LGBTQ communities as character witnesses, advocates, and philanthropists for A Wider Bridge, Israel, and LGBTQ Israelis.
2. AWB Impact and Delegations
A Wider Bridge strengthens Israel’s LGBTQ community by providing financial resources, public platforms, and leadership networking for LGBTQ NGOs and community projects.
Each year, we sponsor AWB Impact delegations – visits of Israeli LGBTQ organization and community leaders to cities across North America- to feature their work and stories at community events, leadership gatherings, and fundraising and networking opportunities.
3. Trainings and Education
Through community trainings, A Wider Bridge provides toolkits for communities and leaders to become more knowledgeable and better-equipped advocates and supporters of Israel and LGBTQ rights in Israel.
We work with communities and individual leaders in North American politics, activism, religion, culture, and media. Our trainings engage diverse audiences: Jews and non-Jews; campus and community leaders, LGBTQ people, allies and future allies; progressives and conservatives.
4. Digital Magazine
A Wider Bridge’s digital magazine is the global LGBTQ and allied community’s portal to learn, connect, support, and advocate for Israel and the Israeli LGBTQ community.
Our tens of thousands of subscribers and followers – LGBTQ people and allies around the world – connect with us online to stay up to date on news, community, opinion, and the important work on LGBTQ rights coming out of Israel. By keeping the global LGBTQ community up to date with Israel and LGBTQ Israelis, we are all better positioned to support one another and advance our communities’ needs.
