Shuv El Haor (“Into the Light Again”) is a new single from Yael Deckelbaum’s third album, arranged and produced by two-time Grammy nominee Helik Hadar, who has resided and worked in Los Angeles for over 20 years, and has worked with international recording artists like Joni Mitchell and Tracy Chapman.

Deckelbaum is one of the most interesting singer songwriters on the Israeli music scene in the past few years. In addition to her solo career (and her love for surfing), she also took part in the musical ensemble “Habanot Nechama” that toured America a few years ago. Her new album, which is defined as her most personal and self-exposing yet, includes thirteen new songs, all of which were written by her in the past few years.

Earlier this week, Decklebaum announced her next tour in America that will begin in the second half of March and will span 7 states. The tour also includes an opening performance and a musical guest, Livingston Taylor (James Taylor’s brother) for his upcoming concert in Massachusetts.

Yael’s first international recognition was in 2007 when she wrote and performed three songs that made it to the soundtrack of the famous TV series ‘The L Word.’ Though she never publicly spoke about her identity, one of her first songs in Hebrew was a love song that she penned to a woman. “For me this song comes naturally”, she told Ynet in 2011. “If I was living in Me’ah She’arim or growing up in Jaffa it might have been brave of me, but I live in a bubble in Tel Aviv surrounded by people that for them this is the most natural thing in the world.”
