A Wider Bridge strongly condemns the Trump administration’s decision to deny U.S. Embassies across the globe from flying Pride flags during Pride month, breaking a longstanding tradition.
As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall and New York City hosts World Pride, the U.S. should be a proud leader in championing LGBTQ rights. Instead, the Trump administration is regressing at a time when LGBTQ visibility is moving forward.
Last week, A Wider Bridge successfully worked with a coalition of LGBTQ Jewish and allied organizations to champion inclusivity and the right to fly Jewish Pride flags and Israeli flags at the D.C. Dyke March. We now take the same message of inclusivity to the Trump administration.
We call on the Trump administration to grant permission for Pride flags to fly freely once again on flagpoles at US Embassies across the world.
