SZIGET Festival, held in Budapest,Hungary, will host Yair Hochner, director of the TLVFest- Tel Aviv LGBT Film Festival.
Yair Hochner will take part in two events during the festival: On August 15, there will be screening of Israeli LGBT shorts that were shown at the festival in Tel Aviv in recent years, and a talk about the festival, which is considered one of the leading LGBT film festivals in the world, and on August 16, Hochner will participate in a panel on pornography and sexuality in LGBTQ cinema and will screen excerpts from films.
The music and culture SZIGET Festival is being held annually in Budapest, capital of Hungary, and hosts performances of top-of-the-line artists. This year’s performances include Rihanna, Sia, Muse, David Guetta, Noel Gallagher, Chemical Brothers, Years & Years, and hundreds of other musicians and artists from around the world.
“The invitation to take part in SZIGET festival, which is one of the largest musical and cultural festivals in the world, indicates the high status of TLVFest,” said Yair Hochner. “I hope that the Film Council and the Tel Aviv municipality will also recognize the importance of TLVFest, that represents Israel and Tel Aviv in particular, on important stages around the world, and that our participation will increase the amount of funds that support the festival.”
The LGBT Film Festival continues its activities throughout the month of August: Tonight, August 9, a special event will take place to mark seven years since the assassination in Bar Noar. The event will include a panel discussion on hate crimes in Israel, followed by a screening of the film “You will never be alone,” which won best film at the 2016 Tel Aviv LGBT film festival and a honorable mention at the International Film Festival in Berlin.
