AWB Virtual Student Leadership Mission to Israel

What is A Wider Bridge Virtual Mission to Israel

Welcome to A Wider Bridge’s Virtual Leadership Mission to Israel. Our Virtual Mission to Israel brings together influential LGBTQA+ student leaders to provide a balanced, sophisticated, deep look at the current state of the Israeli LGBTQ community, Israel’s strategic imperatives, and the latest trends of Israel’s rich culture and iconic sites.

The participants will have the opportunity to learn, experience, and engage through intimate conversations with thought leaders, people-to-people meetings with local activists, network opportunities with Israeli peers, engage in interactive workshops and small group discussions, and enjoy virtual cultural experiences and tours.

The Program

During the mission, we will learn about and engage with Israel’s LGBTQ life and community, explore Israel’s history, democracy, diverse society, and culture, and discuss The challenges of the Israeli-Arab/Palestinian conflict and the work towards peacebuilding. We will have intimate conversations with thought leaders, meetings with local activists, interactive workshops and small group discussions, and virtual cultural experiences.

You can access the full program schedule here and the bios and photos of the speakers you will meet during the mission here (we are adding them on a rolling basis as we receive them). * program might be subject to changes

We are excited to share with you additional tools and resources we curated to help you further your knowledge and enhance your experience. We understand that it is difficult to learn and experience Israel in just 10 hours, therefore we curated our virtual mission kit that includes Articles, movies, and other online resources and tools that will help you further your knowledge on the topics we will discuss and experience during the mission. You will find reading recommendations for each item including what session it is relevant for and by when we recommend you read it.  You can access the virtual mission kit here
