A Wider Bridge’s 2014 Israel Mission has come to an and and was covered this weekend in the leading Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz – including a group photo. See you in The 2015 Israel Mission!
Here’s what Ha’aretz wrote: The U.S.-based A Wider Bridge organization completed its fourth mission to Israel yesterday, bringing a group of 25 people to “find a way for LGBTs to build a deeper relationship with Israel and build ties between” them, according to Arthur Slepian, the group’s founder and executive director. He told Haaretz yesterday that the group met with leaders of several LGBT organizations, both religious and secular, heard performances by Israeli artists Ohad Hitman and Dudu Yzhaki, and met with personalities involved in politics and social change. “What they are taking away is that Israel is a really vibrant and complicated place,” said Slepian, who lives in San Francisco.
