From September 19-26, A Wider Bridge will launch our first-ever LGBTQ Reverse Mission to America, bringing a delegation of the 13 CEOs of Israel’s LGBTQ rights organizations — including many of our grantee organizations — to New York and Washington, DC.
Along their journey, our delegation will learn about American LGBTQ, Jewish, and pro-Israel life, building community relationships, meeting diverse organizations, and sharing ideas with all of us. We also have community-wide events for our American friends and partners to meet, learn from, and share your knowledge with our Israeli guests. Mission alumni will join our emerging Beyond the Bridge Alumni Network — joining our eight years of American Alumni in advocating for and supporting one another.
On Sunday, September 22nd, A Wider Bridge will host our New York-Israel LGBTQ Symposium, which will bring together combined panels of American & Israeli LGBTQ leaders to discuss important topics affecting our communities, ranging from trans equality to LGBTQ youth to religious inclusion. This event is graciously being hosted by Out at the J, Marlene-Meyerson JCC in Manhattan and co-sponsored by Eshel, JQY, Keshet and UJA Pride. Join the LGBTQ, Jewish and pro-Israel communities to come hear about our shared challenges and opportunities when advancing equality in Israel.
On Wednesday, September 25th, A Wider Bridge will host a Washington-Israel LGBTQ & Allies Reception to bring together the LGBTQ, Jewish and pro-Israel communities of Washington D.C. to meet our guests from Israel. This event is open to the public and made possible by the generous sponsorship of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and Stuart Kurlander. Join us for what will be an amazing opportunity to discuss key issues affecting Israel’s LGBTQ community.
