Arizona Representative Daniel Hernandez Jr. had a piece published in The Advocate, about his time in Israel with A Wider Bridge on our June LGBTQ Leadership Mission, and why he supports Israel and LGBTQ Israelis as an LGBTQ elected official. Daniel will be speaking at our SF Gala,  A Wider Benefit, on October 16th.

Professor Gabriel Gomez who also joined the June LGBTQ Leadership Mission, wrote this moving piece upon returning, “A Place Where Being Jewish Isn’t A Source Of Fear.”  A Wider Bridge

We are pleased to welcome Peter Fox as our 2018 New York Fall Fellow and Jacob Lamb as our Fall Intern. Peter is a student at Miami Ad School and Jacob is studying Politics and Global Studies at The New School.

We are preparing for the visit of our newest grantee Ofer Erez, who will be visiting the west and midwest from October 10-25 to discuss his activism as CEO of the Jerusalem Open House and as the first openly trans officer in the  Israeli Defense Forces. A Wider Bridge.



Israel rejected a proposal to grant lesbian couples the same rights as heterosexual couples when registering their child’s birth certificate.  Ha’aretz

An employment center for the transgender community, the first of its kind in Israel, was inaugurated at the LGBTQ Center in Tel Aviv with major organizing by the trans advocacy group MaavarimTime Out
