Monthly Roundup – March 2019

Here’s what’s been happening in the intersecting worlds of A Wider Bridge, Israel and the LGBTQ community.

A WIDER BRIDGE NEWS

SUPPORTING MARRIAGE EQUALITY IN ISRAEL

Last week, gay Israelis  Aviad Raz and Tsion Raz exchanged their vows at Washington Hebrew Congregation, as part of a “Three Weddings and a Statement” organized by the Reform and Conservative Movements to celebrate love and call for marriage equality in Israel. As event co-sponsor, the staff of AWB and Board members Gil Steinlauf and Arthur Slepian were proud to add our LGBTQ voice to the growing movement for civil marriage in Israel.

A WIDER BRIDGE AT AIPAC

We’ve just returned from a productive AIPAC Policy Conference, where we worked diligently to make sure that LGBTQ issues are included in the pro-Israel dialogue. Executive Director Tyler Gregory spoke on two panels, one LGBTQ focused — and one on progressive politics. We were happy for this opportunity to meet with our supporters and Israeli partners at the largest AIPAC yet!

STAFFING UPDATES

Please join us in welcoming our newest team member, Daniel R. Reinglass, as our first Director of Development. Daniel joins Tyler, Quentin, and Sheridan at our HQ in New York City. Additionally, we’re proud to share two well-deserved promotions: Quentin Hill is now our first ever National Outreach Director and Sheridan Bahar is our Operations Manager. Congratulations to all!
