The winner was Miss Brazil, Rafaela Manfrini, who was crowned Miss Trans Star International
Transgender women from 30 different countries participated in the beauty pageant, that aims to be a platform to denounce discrimination against the LGBT community.
During the contest, Talleen performed a dance that she choreographed which was dedicated to peace in Israel.
In the Q&A segment, Talleen was asked what issue she would most have wanted to promote for transgender women, had she won the contest, and Talleen said, “I’d like to strengthen transgender women in the Arab world to come out to freedom. I’d like to give them hope. It’s a great blessing to be an Israeli woman who has the freedom to be who I am.”
“It’s important for me to send a message of peace and love, because love is inside of each and every one of us – and love wins.”
A warm welcome for Talleen back in Israel, at Ben Gurion Airport
