(Salary 60-70K, remote work on east coast hours)

A Wider Bridge (AWB) is the North American organization working through education, advocacy, relationship-building and grant-making to create equality in Israel by expanding LGBTQ inclusion in Israel, and equality for Israel by cultivating constructive engagement with Israel.

About the Role 

A Wider Bridge seeks a motivated community builder who will be responsible for cultivating leaders and creating meaningful relationships with the A Wider Bridge network. The community manager will be a highly organized self starter who will be responsible for driving engagement across our social media channels through compelling content, regular interaction with followers, and active outreach to potential influencers.  The community manager will also be responsible for working on community initiatives and developing relationships that will deepen connections with A Wider Bridge’s alumni network as well as the broader Jewish, LGBTQ and Israel advocacy communities. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead mobilizations and advocacy efforts for A Wider Bridge community including mission alumni
  • Draft, edit, design, and post content across platforms (Email?, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn); coordinate conversations on social media, and pitch A Wider Bridge and related content to digital, print, and media channels
  • Stay up to date on social media trends, develop and implement strategies including advertising, to attract influencers, grow our audience, and increase engagement
  • Maintain a content calendar for social media, newsletters, and editorials
  • Implement online advertising and other growth strategies to increase social media followers; implement strategies to grow email mailing list and develop email content
  • Manage organizational website and update content to accurately reflect the work of the organization and manage engagement using the most up-to-date trends
  • Direct rapid response communication strategies to current events in real-time, guided by the mission, messaging guidance, and positions of the organization
  • Provide direction to staff, partners, mission alumni and other stakeholders to publish op-eds, statements, and other relevant messaging
  • Track key metrics to monitor the success of engagement strategies and alumni activity
  • Be an expert in the A Wider Bridge community and be the main point of contact for A Wider Bridge alumni and other stakeholders

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in communications, marketing, community organizing
  • Relationship builder: You are people-oriented and can build strong relationships across diverse groups of stakeholders through digital and direct engagement 
  • Flexible and adaptable: You embrace new opportunities to collaborate and thrive in a dynamic work environment 
  • Organized and accountable: You can meet deadlines and strive for excellence 
  • Strong knowledge of the LGBTQ, Jewish, and Israel advocacy communities and passion to support these communities 
  • Experienced in digital/social/PR analytics; measurement and reporting processes
  • Experience in graphic design, Mailchimp, and WordPress a plus
