A Letter from our Board Chair and CEO, Alan Schwartz
regarding our response to COVID-19
Like everyone, the events of the past couple weeks have been dizzying for all of us at A Wider Bridge. First, we wish a Refuah Shleimah, a complete healing, to everyone in our community in Israel, in North America, and around the world who have been directly affected by COVID-19. And our deepest thanks to so many of you who have stepped up in myriad ways to help ensure the community’s health, safety, and well-being during this incredibly challenging time. You inspire us all.
In concurrence with federal and local guidelines, we are adjusting upcoming leadership development and community engagement programming to digital platforms where possible, and postponing all gatherings through April 30th until further notice. Additionally, our professional staff is working remotely until further notice.
This is a particularly concerning time for marginalized and underprivileged communities globally, including our LGBTQ partners and grantees in Israel. We will be working with our Israeli friends in the coming weeks and months to ensure our communities are meaningfully supporting one another during this challenging period and will share updates with the community on the latest developments out of Israel.
This is truly a time for all of us to come together as a community. It is time to use all that we have to bring our communities together for good. We are in this together, as we have been many times before, and we know that we will rise once again to the occasion, with courage, commitment, and creativity.
Below you’ll find our traditional Monthly Round-up briefing on the important work of A Wider Bridge and our partners in Israel over the past few weeks.
Stay safe and stay strong,
Board Chair, A Wider Bridge
