A Wider Bridge is proud to host our first-ever Eurovision Song Contest viewing party at Revolver Video Club in LA and hosted by the fabulous Ms. Sadie Pines. Israel won the competition in 2018 with Netta Barzilai‘s TOY, and as a result, is now hosting the 2019 event.
For the LGBTQ community, Eurovision has long been more than just a song contest. Showcasing performers from across the LGBTQ spectrum – the event has a vehicle for empowerment, dignity and visibility.
In 1998, Israeli trans singer Dana International won the Eurovision with her song “Diva,” and became a cultural icon and a force for the LGBTQ community. Her win helped battle transphobia across Israel. Last year’s winner Netta Barzilai is a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community and proudly marched in the Haifa Pride after her win.
We invite you to watch Eurovision with us – as together we celebrate our LGBTQ community and the shared values of equality.
PLEASE RSVP BY MAY 15th at awiderbridge.org/eurovision
