On Monday, 40 Years of Pride announced the first round of influential voices in their field to speak at Tel Aviv’s first-ever global LGBTQ leadership conference. Stellar panels of accomplished experts and thought leaders will ensure the most timely and relevant perspectives. Speakers include Mayor of Seattle Ed Murray, National Policy Project Director at Lambda Legal Jennifer Pizer, acclaimed gay journalist and activist James Kirchick, Former White House and Obama Campaign Political Advisor- Prof. Karine Jean-Pierre, founder of the Ingersoll Gender Center Marsha Botzer and many others.

The speakers will be divided into panels that will be spread throughout the days of the conference, dedicated to various subjects- from Global Issues to Media, Youth, Faith, Transgender Issues, Minorities and Culture. Organizers of the conference promise to release more names of speakers soon.
“We are very excited to be announcing the initial list of speakers and panelists,” said Arthur Slepian, Executive Director of A Wider Bridge and co-organizer of 40 Years of Pride. “Our list includes accomplished leaders from many parts of the LGBTQ community, and is diverse in terms of age, race, gender, religion, and geography.”
“The list of speakers includes political leaders such as the Honorable Ed Murray, Mayor Seattle, one of the highest ranking gay politcal leaders in the United States,” added Slepian, “and also transgender leaders, leading LGBT voices in the media, religious leaders, academic leaders, LGBT activists from developing countries and legal activists working on the front lines of the Marriage Equality movement and other major issues.”
“We will be announcing more speakers and panelists as the conference approaches, including those from Israel,” said Slepian, “but this list gives you a great sense of the caliber of people we will have the opportunity to meet with, learn from and explore opportunities for collaboration to make our movement stronger.”
