Ohad Hitman is a singer, songwriter, composer and musician in Israel. Hitman was born and raised in Tel Aviv. His father, Chaim, is the brother of famous singer, lyricist and composer Uzi Hitman and grandson of Cantor Abraham Hitman. Ohad’s connection to music began early, when at the age of eight he began playing his grandfather’s piano. His grandfather promised him that if he kept singing the traditional Song of Honor (“An’im Zmirot”) for Shabbat for a year in the synagogue, he’d get his own piano.
Ohad studied music and Jazz Arts at the famous performing-arts high school “Thelma Yellin” in Tel Aviv. In addition to his studies, he was a member of the youth group “Youth of Tel Aviv “, with whom he performed on the successful TV musical series aired on Channel 1 and was called ‘Lo Kolel Sheirut’ (“Does Not Include Service “), which was also where his first songs, which he wrote and composed, were performed.
In 1995 he joined the army, where he served in the military band of the Education Corps. After his military service he studied at the Rimon School of Music and became one of its graduates. Parallel to his studies, Ohad continued to perform in various settings which introduced the songs, including the famous national ‘Piano Festival’ in Tel Aviv. Upon his graduation from Rimon, he got a degree in music and composition at the Academy of Music in Jerusalem, where he graduated in 2003.
Hitman’s solo career began in March 2005, when he released his self-titled debut album. One of the songs, ‘Tagidi Lo’ (“Tell Him”), became a huge hit in Israel and ended up in the top 20 most loved songs on the year’s chart. In January 2008 he released his second album, “The Next Moment,” produced by Shmulik Neufeld and Hitman himself. The album includes 12 songs , most of them written and composed by Ohad himself.
