Gay pride murder: Insurance company refuses to pay the victim’s family

Clal Insurance is refusing to pay the family of Shira Banki, who was murdered in the Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade, because, according to the company, the murder was premeditated.

shira-Featured-1Why are the insurance companies refusing to pay policies to the families of teenagers who were murdered? The official answer from the companies: Because murder is an act that can be predicted and therefore, it is not considered an accident. The Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee discussed this subject today (Monday). During the discussion, it was discovered that the family of Shira Banki, who was murdered in the Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade, is experiencing the same issue.

In addition, it was discovered during the discussion that the insurance companies charge more for policies of children from the peripheral areas of Israel, because they are “children with a high potential risk of delinquency and injury.”
