Northeast Manager of Programs and Development

The Northeast Manager of Programs and Development, based in Manhattan, New York, oversees the Northeast Regional operations of A Wider Bridge, which as of today includes New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New England. The Northeast Manager is responsible for fundraising, community engagement programming, and leadership development efforts for AWB stakeholders in the Northeast. These responsibilities include prospecting and managing relationships with donors, LGBTQ Israel Mission participants, community partners, and other stakeholders in our work. The Northeast Manager will report to the National Director of Programs and Development, also based in New York. The Northeast Manager will educate and inspire LGBTQ and Jewish leaders and their communities to develop a stake in the future of Israel and its LGBTQ community.

Detailed Duties:

-Develop an annual Northeast fundraising plan with the National Director of Programs and Development and oversee the plan’s execution and goals
-Prospect, cultivate, recruit, and steward major individual gifts ($1000+), map out long-term growth plan for high-level individual donors
-Work closely with the AWB National Director of Programs and Development to prospect and cultivate institutional and foundation support, including preparation and submission of grant applications

Leadership Development:
-Manage the AWB New York Leadership Council, including the planning quarterly meetings and management of Council Member relationships and fulfillment of expectations
-Prospect, recruit, and manage relationships with AWB LGBTQ Mission to Israel participants
– Create and execute a follow-up plan for Mission alumni
-Organize and execute community fundraising events and parlor meetings

-Oversee logistics, recruitment, and execution of Northeast community engagement programs featuring Israeli LGBTQ political and cultural leaders
-Partner with Northeast Mission alumni to execute their MyBridge scholarship projects (programs and/or media connecting their Israel experiences with their home communities)

Community relations:
-Develop community partnerships in the LGBTQ, pro-Israel and Jewish communities
-Represent A Wider Bridge in the community via speaking engagements and panel discussions
-Represent AWB at partners’ community events

– Develop the annual Northeast programming budget with the National Director of Programs and Development and Executive Director, manage the budget day-to-day

– Maintain updated Northeast data in donor database, program calendar,

– Operate Northeast communications through email software for mass mailings, Facebook, and other media platforms

A successful candidate will demonstrate:

-Passion for Israel and LGBTQ advocacy
– Approach work in a self-motivated way without need for close supervision, and with effective time management
-Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
-5+ years of related work experience
-Face-to-face solicitation and development experience required
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Strong organizational skills
-Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite, database management, and internet usage
-Public speaking skills
-Ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends
